Douglas XA 4D Skyhawk Vs A4 SU Super Skyhawk

Skyhawk. Most scarious jet fighter in war world produced by United States Army. It is mainly designed as a bomber jet which had already destroyed a lot country. However the impressive design of the jet fighter completed with sophisticated technology impressed me a lot.

There are a few similarities that can be compared. Firstly, both of the products has single cockpit which can only carried single passenger. Secondly, both jet fighters are powered by powerful single turbojet at the back . Then, both jet fighters were equipped with the uprated J52-P-408 engine similar to the configuration used by the Blue Angels. Other than that, both wing structure are light in weight.

The differences between Douglas XA 4D Skyhawk and A4 SU Super Skyhawk are Douglas XA 4D Skyhawk was designed with low mounted delta wing carries across the entire aircraft. The choice of a delta wing, that is so compact that it did not need to be folded for carrier stowage. The A4 SU Super Skyhawk was completed with folded wings. The absence of a wing folding mechanism reduced weight. Then, the tail of the Dougles XA 4D Skyhawk is of cruciform designation tail while the A4 SU Super Skyhawk tail was designed in T tail. Other than that, XA 4D is equipped with Colt Mk 12 cannon while the A4 SU is equipped with Colt Mk 12 cannon.
